Analyze the current processes of determination, procurement and delivery of spare parts required for a PID of a LSG Danubio, suggesting possible changes to minimize or avoiding possible delays in the timescales of a repair period

The purpose is to deliver a proposal of change in any part of the current methodology (how to do things) in the area of needs determinations, in order to permit an advanced purchase of spare parts required for the development of preventive maintenance in an intermediate period of dock (PID), of a General Service Ship Danubio class (LSG).

The current situation is that, because of limitation in resources coupled with inaccuracies in the determination of needs, there are two common consequences which must be corrected. The first is that eventually acquired parts are not used (resources goes to immobilized inventory) and second, to prevent this, nothing is acquired in advance, waiting for the technical report issued by Naval Shipyards (ASMAR), which translates into delays for not timely satisfaction of the requirement.

That delay in delivery of spare parts is what, based on the interaction of various concepts; I desire to improve, specifically for LSG units.

The objective of this thesis is to propose changes applicable to the determination process, procurement and timely delivery of needs, specifically for spare parts, with at least 80% of assertiveness, and in this way provide the required spare parts, making an advanced purchase to avoid arrears or logistical delays in accomplishment of timescales for the indicated repair period.

The following issues were subject for research:

1.       Repair Process Policy Issue, reviewed, approved and issued, by the Directory of Materiel Logistics.

2.       Diagnosis tests applied to equipment to confection list of jobs, issued by the technical directorates (DISN, DABA and DITC), as the entities with the authority tuition of the equipment onboard each different ship.

3.       Confection of required job list (LTS), a list made by the unit and presented to the Directory of Materiel Logistics for its classification

4.       Confection of needs list (LN), iIn the same way as the LTS, the LN is developed by the unit corresponds to the totality of spare parts that, according to the LTS, will be required for the execution of the jobs.

5.       Technical Classification, to make a technical classification of each job.

6.       Quotation and negotiation with shipyard, e.g. the list of jobs for its quotation.

7.       Budget adjustment and final LTS definition by a meeting between representatives of the operational (unit) and technical (DRUA and DDTT) areas.

8.       LN satisfaction process, as final step.
